Many have come to us this season wanting to learn how to Spey (and obvioulsy catch a wild Steelhead) Everybody comes here with the same intention, whether or not the sun, stars and moon line up in your favor, to allow a Steelhead to bite your hook that you have swung hundreds of times into the river……the reality is that you may have opportunities to hook Steelhead, and then moving on to one step further, to actually land one! Or two or three…

Our guests who have come here to learn the art of Spey, and actually land a Steelhead were absolutely beside themselves with a rush that they have never felt before. The adrenaline mainlining into their blood stream, going straight to their brain, leaving them speechless and only wanting MORE! Some first timers have come, hooked into 40″ Steelhead and sadly admitted to me at the end of the day, that that was their first encounter with a Steelhead – EVER; and that their “Heart was Broken”. To he who spoke those words also said at the end of his trip that that was an experience he will never forget, until he returns again it will haunt his dreams…..He has already booked his next trip! 😉

We only had one tough fishing week when the water levels & clarity were not in our favor, other than that we have literally ‘hit it out of the park!” There are a couple things I would like to discuss, one: The Skeena IV rod days have been a saving grace for us! As we see the “Upper” rivers as crowded as they have become, they have been very disappointing to many of anglers! Having these Classified Skeena days has saved us immensely, as our Northern Tour has not even been on our agenda. We now have access to quiet Skeena IV days (in which only 5 guides have rod days) so it is very rare to even see any other guides or anglers, and the swingable runs are sometimes a mile long! Here is where you can encounter and possibly catch, Fresh out of the Ocean, Summer Run Steelhead, because they are headed to their spawning grounds, the famous Kispiox, Babine and Morice rivers. #travellingthroughtheskeenafirst Another note, we have had a many discussion around the dinner table and fire pit in regards to taking in ALL the things we have to offer, such as Good Food, Belly Laughs, The Scenery, all the “firsts”. We can proudly say that everybody who has come and spent their time with us has vigorously enjoyed themselves, and allowed all the other blessings our Adventures have to offer fill their souls. We enjoy the company of all our guests, the only way that a trip can be ruined, is if you ruin it yourself. One thing we can guarantee is, you will absolutely enjoy the lodge, our family, our friendship, the laughs, our knowledgeable guides, the pristine and flawless scenery, the drinks (if you wish) the food, and if you are lucky enough, enjoy the thrill of landing a Wild Steelhead! To all our past guests we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of the fun, laughter and success here at Westcoast Fishing Adventures, and to those who are still wishing to book your first trip with us – what are you waiting for? You only live once! Might as well come and Enjoy yourself here with us in God’s Country! On one last note, keep in touch with our Booking Calendar (https://westcoastfishing.ca/contact) , as the Remote Spring Steelhead Camp aka ‘Steelhead Bootcamp’ is starting to fill up. You can call or email us anytime should you have any questions about the different trips we offer throughout the year.
